Bob Tasca III Finishes up the 2021 NHRA Season with a Win in Pomona

This Past NHRA season came to an unexpected finish this past Sunday, When Fans from all over assembled to watch Bob Tasca III win the Funny Car race for his third victory of the season, beating Alexis DeJoria a 3.955 at 321.65 in his Ford Mustang. Capps won the season title when defending champion Matt Hagan lost in the semifinals.

Tasca Racing, Started the 2021 NHRA season strong with a commanding points lead for nearly eight races. An unfortunate series of second and third-round eliminations seemed to dash any prospects of the Tasca Racing Team making it to the podium at the world championships. However, in true underdog fashion, Bob Tasca III managed to claw his way up the leader board and take home a wally with him in the process.

Bob's Motorcraft/Quicklane Ford Beat out JR Todd in the first round running 3.955 at 321.65 MPH. This early win certainly set a tempo for the Tasca Racing team as they continued to amass victory after victory at Pomona.

In the next round, Bob Tasca III was scheduled to race, Jim Campbell. Jim and the Dipinto team came up a bit short and couldn't quite beat Bob's Tasca III 3.946 at 323.50

The Tasca Team kept up the momentum going into the third round of races against the legendary John Force. Force started the race with a clear advantage however, Tasca managed to nose ahead to get the win running 3.950 at 322.58 MPH. Tasca moved on to his 21st final round but gave up lane choice to Alexis DeJoria.

In the final round at Pomona, Tasca faced off against Alexis DeJoria, who has been on a winning streak, as of late. This entire race was pretty even With Tasca gaining a small advantage at the start but the two cars stayed relatively close, until the finish. When the dust settled, Tasca claimed his 9th career win and 3rd of 2021 with a run of 3.974 at 322.58 MPH.

This is Bob's First Win at Pomona and more importantly, a career-best, third in points. At this point, it's almost undeniable,  BobTasca II is a force to be reckoned with and this will be evident in the upcoming 2022 season.  And With the latest announcement that PPG has taken on an expanded sponsorship role with Tasca Racing, Sponsors seem to be rallying behind the veteran funny car driver to pull through for a world championship in the 2022 season.
