Cranston, RI (October 31, 2017) - Ford and Tasca Racing are a team again! Tasca Racing is thrilled to announce a Ford NHRA drag racing sponsorship for the 2018 season.

“This is a very exciting day for me personally, and for everyone involved at Tasca Racing,” said Bob Tasca III. “We have always been a Ford family and have a long history with drag racing, so to be able to return to NHRA Funny Car full-time in 2018 with the support of our long-time friends at Ford is the perfect scenario for us.”

Ford and its brands will sponsor Bob Tasca III and his NHRA Funny Car Shelby Mustang for at least 16 races over the upcoming 2018 NHRA Drag Racing Season.

This is Ford’s first venture back into professional NHRA drag racing after stepping away from sponsorships following the 2014 season.

Additionally, Tasca Racing will benefit from the aerodynamics engineering expertise of Ford Performance, which has committed to improving the team’s long-term success on the track.

“We’re excited about partnering with Tasca Racing and helping them return to NHRA for a championship run,” said Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance. “We believe we have the technology tools to help the team be competitive on the track long-term, and are looking forward to the effort starting in 2018.

“The Tasca family has always been a pioneer in racing, and a leader in Ford vehicle and parts sales for many decades. This partnership will only serve to strengthen that legacy.”

With a career best ET of 3.892 and a career best speed of 326.56 mph, Bob Tasca III can claim four race wins, 11 finals appearances, and three qualifications for the Countdown to the Championship.

Bob and his team have the NHRA Funny Car title at the tops of their minds. Tasca Racing’s partnership with Ford, Ford Performance, and a new technical alliance with Don Schumacher Motorsports will help make this goal a reality.

“This is something we have been working on for months now,” said Bob, “So it’s great to be able to finally talk about it. We are ramping up for a full-season effort on the track, but also are ready to start working with our Ford partners to help reach their business goals and to help recruit technicians and mechanics for Ford dealerships by leveraging the NHRA platform. My team is focused on winning a Championship for all the Ford fans that have supported Tasca and Ford since the 60’s! My grandfather coined the phrase Win on Sunday Sell on Monday. That statement is alive and well within the NHRA. We can’t wait to get started.”

About Tasca Racing

Now headquartered near Charlotte in Concord, N.C., Tasca Racing was founded in 1962 by legendary Ford dealer Bob Tasca Sr. of Rhode Island. While most well-known for coining the term “Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday,” Bob Tasca Sr. is also widely recognized for helping bring Ford to the forefront of performance during the golden era of racing in the 1950s and 1960s with such vehicles as the 428 Cobra Jet. Today the Tasca performance heritage continues with the second and third generations of the family. Carl Tasca Sr. (Bob Sr’s son) drives the fastest Ford Cobra Jet in the country. Bob Tasca III (Bob Sr’s grandson) pilots a 300 mph, 10,000-horsepower Shelby Mustang Nitro Funny Car. See more at: www.tascaracing.com.
